Dr Adam Todd (Newcastle University) visited the Aging Research Center (ARC) on September 11-14. This visit marks the start of a collaboration with the pharmacoepidemiology research group led by Professor Kristina Johnell.
Dr Todd is a clinical pharmacist and senior lecturer in pharmaceutical public health. His research focuses on appropriate medication use among older adults, especially in the context of limited life expectancy and palliative care. Together with collaborators in England and in the United States, he has shown the benefit of deprescribing unnecessary medications, both in terms of health outcomes and in terms of quality of life.
