Mikael is a Guest Professor at the Aging Research Center.
He was the Head of the Department of Public Health Sciences at Stockholm University between 2018-2023 and Director of the Centre for Health Equity Studies (CHESS) between 2016-2018.
Mikael is the PI of a larger research programme financed by FORTE called “Social determinants of health among individuals with foreign background: Societal and individual perspectives” (SMASH). He also leads the project “Mental health consequences following the loss of a family member during the Corona pandemic: A multi-methods approach” financed by the Swedish Research Council (VR).
