Farshad has a technical background in bio-electrical and medical engineering and a PhD in neuroscience. He pursued his PhD studies at the Division of Clinical Geriatrics, NVS Department, Karolinska Institutet. The main focus of his research was to investigate the potential use of neuroimaging biomarkers (structural MRI and FDG-PET) in Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment. In particular, he worked on the development, implementation and validation of a methodology based on machine learning and neuroimaging data to generate a computer-aided decision support index for early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and prediction of disease progression.
