Abigail Dove

Abigail Dove is a PhD Student in Weili Xu’s group. Her research focuses on the connection between cardiometabolic disease (i.e. type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke) and dementia. This spans the association of cardiometabolic diseases with various cognitive phenotypes, the mechanisms underlying this, and whether the effect of cardiometabolic diseases on the brain can be mitigated by healthy lifestyle factors.

Abigail has a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Swarthmore College (USA) and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Helsinki (Finland). In between these degree programs, she spent two years working as a science writer focused on the global diabetes/obesity epidemic.
