In June, Pär Schön, researcher at Aging Research Center, was appointed as an associate professor of Social Work at Stockholm University.

Pär’s research covers the health and social care system for older people, social policy implications of the ageing population, and how this will affect future needs and demands for health and social care services.

– I am glad and honoured to become an associate professor at the Department of Social Work at Stockholm University, one of Sweden’s leading research environments in the field of eldercare and other welfare services for older people, says Pär Schön.

Pär currently has funding from Forte to study older people’s pathways to emergency care. Another grant from Forte concerns whether integrated care is a more efficient way of organizing health and social care for older persons with complex needs than ‘traditional’ delivery of care services.
