Marti Parker has been appointed professor of geriatric epidemiology at Karolinska Institutet.
Marti uses information from cross-sectional and longitudinal studies to follow the health status of elderly people over time.  We are living longer than ever before, and Marti’s aim is to learn whether our extra years are spent in good health or in sickness and disability. She takes many dimensions of health into account in her work, including medical conditions, physical and mental functioning, mobility, and wellbeing.
