Every year, the Swedish Gerontological Society (SGS), awards the Great Gerontology Prize (Stora gerontologipriset) to a person who has made significant contributions to the field of ageing.

In 2023 the prize will go to Laura Fratiglioni, Professor at Karolinska Institutet, working at the Aging Research Center at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society. Laura Fratiglioni receives the prize for her long career and substantial contribution to ageing research and for raising issues around old persons and ageing on the scientific and political agenda.

Laura Fratiglioni will give a prize lecture and will receive the Great Gerontology Prize on 17 March 2023, in connection with the ‘Gerontology Day’ in Norrköping.
