Hjärnfestivalen is a  one-week popular science event, focusing on the brain, taking place in different locations downtown Stockholm, from September 7th to 11th, 2016.
Over a week, all Stockholmers, young and old, are invited to:
• exciting talks given by leading researchers,
• fun workshops
• interactive activities
• movie screenings
• discussion cafés
• concerts
Researchers from the main academic institutions of Stockholm are invited to collaborate with the cultural scene as well as other fields, in order to present the wonders of the brain in terms of science, art, music, dance, economics.
The program will be split into two parts:
• a public program open to everyone, taking place in different locations downtown Stockholm and comprising the activities listed above
• a school program, including library projects (started a month before the event), lab visits, practical experiments in labs with neuroscientists, discussions between students and researchers, as well as activities specifically designed for teachers (workshops and talks focusing on learning processes, brain development and changes during adolescence, learning- and attention-related disorders, etc).
