Pär Schön is an associate professor at the Aging Research Center. His research interests cover the health and social care system for older people, social policy implications of the ageing population, and how this will affect future needs and demands for health and social care services. Currently, Pär is the PI of the Forte-funded project “Why do older people seek emergency care? Causes, circumstances and explanations”.

Pär is involved in several international networks and international comparative studies on the care for older people. He is also the Swedish non-governmental expert on long-term care in the European Social Policy Network for the European Commission.
