Ing-Mari Dohrn has a postdoctoral position at Aging Research Center as a SFO-V fellow 2018-2019. She has a PhD in medical science from the Division of physiotherapy at Karolinska Institutet, and defended her thesis ‘Physical activity and health-related quality of life in older adults with osteoporosis’ in 2015. Ing-Mari’s clinical background is in the primary healthcare and she has also worked with the implementation of Physical activity on prescription (FaR) in the Stockholm County and as a course coordinator for the Doctoral school of research in family medicine, KI/SLL. She is chairman of the Swedish Professional Associations for Physical Activity and part of the editorial board for eFYSS, a web adaptation of the handbook Physical activity in disease prevention and disease treatment – FYSS.

Ing-Mari’s research mainly focuses on physical activity and health, and on objective assessment of physical activity using accelerometry. During her previous postdoctoral training at Karolinska Institutet (Maria Hagströmer’s research group) she explored the associations of objectively assessed sedentary time and physical activity with mortality and morbidity in a Swedish population-based cohort, the ABC-study, with 15 years follow-up. As a postdoctoral researcher at Aging Research Center she will investigate objectively assessed sedentary behavior and its association with cognitive function in over 500 older men and women, participating in the Swedish National study on Aging and Care in Kungsholmen (SNAC-K).
